Get a clear picture of your site reliability
Are you frustrated with the lack of observability into your web application's reliability? Do you know if your backend can respond to a user request? How long did it take to respond? How many requests could be handled during peak traffic?
First, we work with you and your team to understand your web application's goals. Specifically, we want stakeholders to agree on what the application provides to your users and to identify risks that can impede those goals. We want to help you to both mitigate those risks and to gain observability into your application's reliability.
Next, we establish service level objectives (SLOs). SLOs are a set of metrics that define the desired reliability of your web application. For example, average latency of network requests in a geographic region over a time span of 2 hours. Or, mean error rates in a 10 minute interval.
Finally, we establish service level indicators (SLIs). SLIs are the metrics that are used to measure the SLOs. For example, error rate of network requests. Or, time to interactive.
